Hopley Yeaton
Portrait commissioned by the USCG Academy Museum of the first Commissioned officer in any Naval Force in the US (1791). Capt. Yeaton is shown aboard the deck of his first command, the Revenue cutter 'Scammel'. He is considered the father of the CG Academy and his remains are interred on the Academy grounds in New London Conn. The portrait resides in Yeaton Hall. (picture of print of painting)
